The International Music Master Courses [IMMC] organized by the Gomez-Martínez International Foundation and the Polytechnic University in Madrid, in academic collaboration with the Royal Superior Conservatoire of Music in Madrid, theare based at the wide experience in the development of artistic and pedagogical activities, which Maestro Gómez-Martínez and the teachers and artists of highest international level, who shape his team, bring in for the development of an unique call in its format and contents.
The aim being the Higher Education in Orchestra conducting, IMMC approach several related highly specialized areas, such as Orchestral Formation, Correpetition, Composition, Solo instrument and Singing in Opera and Symphonic repertoire, thus focusing on the confluence and fulfilment of all knowledges which make up Music at its highest level. The IMMC will be held at the Royal Superior Conservatoire of Music in Madrid, musical place of preeminence, providing all necessary facilities and equipment for IMMC’s high study program.

IMMC are an unparalleled proposal due to their great intensity, variety and artistic content, aimed particularly to professionals, but also open to students of the highest formation in the different areas of expertise. The International Music Master Courses are accredited, providing attendants, after completion and positive evaluation, with a University Academic Diploma awarded by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, as well as with the GMIF Artistic Excellence Certificate for outstanding participants.
Madrid Royal Superior Conservatoire of Music, site of the IMMC, will be the first educative and artistic centre in Spain, and also in the world, hosting an Academic and Artistic Program of such a grand scope. The program includes, for the first time, the Course of Orchestral Formation organized by the GMIF, consisting in the union of young musicians of all countries in the world in order to form a great Symphony Orchestra, which will perform a series of Symphony and Opera concerts.
The final completion will consist, on one hand, in the concerts conducted and played by the Maestros, and, on the other hand, in concerts conducted and played by the participants after the preparation of the works chosen as repertoire and in each one of the developed areas of study, including recitals, symphony concerts, also with solo piano, as well as Opera in concert. The recitals will be held at Madrid Royal Superior Conservatoire of Music, while the concerts will take place in Teatro Monumental and in different historical locations in Madrid. Some concerts, as well as a Documentary about the IMMC, will be broadcasted on Radio and TV
IMMC bring together a team of the most prestigious Maestros, Artists and Professors of the different areas of expertise, led by Maestro Gómez-Martínez, and will include Professors from the most prestigious orchestras in the world, (Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala Miland), and in Spain, (Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Sinfónica de Radiotelevisión Española, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Comunidad de Madrid,), as well as professors and artists of international prestige.
Some of the professors and artists who will give Master classes are renowned eminences such as Joaquín Achúcarro, Antón García Abril, Teresa Berganza, Cristóbal Halffter, José Peris, Leonel Morales, José María Sánchez Verdú, Lorenzo Martínez Palomo, Mª José Montiel, Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Ainhoa Arteta, etc..
The Gómez Martínez International Foundation will accord 118 scholarships to the selected participants who will advance their studies on Orchestral Formation and establish the Young International Symphony Orchestra YIPO.
The Area of Orchestral Conducting, core field of the IMMC, will integrate the Methodologies of the Vienna School (University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna), whose techniques and precepts correspond directly with those established by the mythical Professor Hans Swarowsky. As Swarowsky’s preferred disciple, Maestro Gómez-Martínez took the baton, continuing his pedagogical, technical and artistic guidance.
In the program development will come together the specific study Areas above mentioned, tightly interwoven so as to achieve the goal of any great classic musical work: the Symphony Concert and the Opera in Concert
IMMC intensive theoretical-practical format of its structure is completely unique. It offers to all participants the opportunity of a complete formation of the highest level. Those singled out as active participants for their outstanding quality and solvency, will be called to individual orchestra conducting, in the Closing concert, as well as in other concerts, recitals, recordings and broadcasted performances.
The International Music Master Courses (GMIF-UPM) make reality a pedagogic event of highest level conducive to the excellence in the creation and interpretation of the Artistic Work, generated by a numerous group of Professors/Artists, who “teach” while they “create” the Work, thus integrating participants and students in the complete process of the artistic creation, through a unique and extraordinary Program of Studies
