Jonathan Müller studied at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich. Furthermore he attended masterclasses with Håkan Hardenberger (Malmö), Kristian Steenstrup (Aarhus), Prof. Klaus Schuhwerk (Basel), Prof. Jouko Harjanne (Helsinki), Prof. Hannes Läubin (Munich), Prof. Luis González (Barcelona) and Prof. Uwe Köller (Graz).
Jonathan Müller won several first prizes at the national youth competition “Jugend musiziert” in Germany. In 2006 he also won first prize and a special prize at the nationwide “Carl Schröder Competition” (Thuringia). In the “Deutscher Musikwettbewerb” in 2010, he arrived as the only trumpet the third round and won a scholarship of the DMW. In 2011 he got, as the only German trumpet player, to the third round of the internationally renowned ARD Music Competition. In addition he is a fellow of the “Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes” since 2011and of the “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” since 2013.
Jonathan Müller was member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the Orchestra Mozart, conducted by Claudio Abbado. In addition, he regularly helps out in orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe or the Orquesta Nacional de España (Madrid). Since 2013 Jonathan Müller is Principal Trumpet of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig.
Moreover, Jonathan Mueller performs as a soloist with orchestras such as the arcata chamber orchestra Stuttgart, Tübingen Sinfonietta, the Nürnberger Symhoniker, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.
